Dr. Peer Ghulam Nabi Suhail

Dr. Peer Ghulam Nabi Suhail assumed the charge of Mission Director Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission Society in September 2017. He has an illustrious academic background. He holds PhD in Development Studies, MPP in International Development, MA in History and a Diploma in Conflict Management. Dr. Suhail represents the rare embodiment of interfacing of academics with policy planning and program execution. Fellow of International Poverty Reduction Centre, Dr. Suhail has worked and collaborated with prestigious national and international institutions/organizations/ corporates and government departments in India and abroad.
Dr. Suhail had a brief university-level teaching stint in India and abroad, teaching Public Administration, Development Economics, Development Sociology, Comparative Developmental Models. His scholarly works include projects and publications on political economy of development, agrarian political economy, governing globalization, land and water politics, microfinance, disaster and development and third sector governance. His recent book “ Pieces of Earth”, published by Oxford University Press has been described by EPW journal as “first ever academic study on Kashmir that makes a crucial departure from what one might call structuralist studies of J&K politics.”
